《觸不到的她》Samantha與Theodore的戀情，一般理解是真實與虛擬、人與機器之間的戀愛；不過想深一層，既然Samantha能夠穿越空間和時間，又能與人類互動而不斷進化，其實這正在挑戰我們對愛情以至存在的想像：肉身作為思想及靈魂的載體，其進化的終極圖像，必會出現我們現時無法想像的形態，而當中人與人之間的接觸互動，存在者感知自身與他人的方式，也許會越來越不需依附肉身這「載體」，屆時Samantha與Theodore，便可以另一種的存在方式重遇。
Samantha:
It’s like I’m reading a book… and it’s a book I deeply love. But I’m reading it slowly now. So the words are really far apart and the spaces between the words are almost infinite.
